I've officially been DJing since about 1994. Started in the bedroom and then moved up to the backyard and warehouse parties of the Orange County Underground. Later on, I had a few gigs at some local clubs and made some guest appearances also. I spin a little bit of everything (old school, hip hop, trance, house, 80’s) but my soft spot is House. It’s what I remember most about the party scene I grew up with. Getting the people worked up with some Masters at Work – Deep Inside or some Smooth Touch – House of Love (In My House)!
So what type of DJ is Dj Topik? As far as I'm concerned I'm a DJ period! I'll spin old school, funk, disco, hip hop, or whatever the event/my mood calls for. But as I mentioned I have a special thing for House. Influenced in my younger days by DJ's like Richard Humpty Vission's style and his epic classic mix compilation, "This is a Test Vol. 1", House became my passion. I like to listen to it and I like to dj it just as much!!!
